Titan Mail - Curious if folks would recommend? **Context** \- I used to use Gmail, slowly have migrated to **Proton,** but am seeking one more privacy focused service to use to migrate my work email from Google Workplace to a different privacy focused email provider that doesn't scan for advertising. Could be either: * e2ee - Tuta, [Mailbox.org](http://Mailbox.org), Posteo, Mailfence, Startmail * non-e2ee but privacy focus - Fastmail, Zoho Mail, Titan Mail, Neo Mail, Hey mail **Titan Email question** \- I'm totally befuddled by the lack of comments on reddit about Titan, as they have a ton of positive feedback but almost zero reddit mentions: * Google Play Store - 500,000 downloads, 3,000 reviews, 4.3 rating * TrustPilot - 350+ reviews, 4.4 rating I'm in the midst of trialing both Fastmail, Titan, Tuta, and Mailbox. Would love to hear any comments people might have about Titan in your long term use? So far it seems to be ultra intuitive, easy to use, wonderful visual layout, to the point (functional but without overly busy bells and whistles), very fast, and models the Gmail / Outlook look but being more minimalist and easy on the eyes. Any thoughts, would folks recommend? Likes, dislikes? Hopes, hesitations?
Honest question: Is fully encrypted email a "need" or a "desire" for common people? Honest question: Is fully encrypted email a "need" or a "desire" for common people? I do not intent to argue that end-to-end encrypted email is essential for some people. I'm not talking about journalists, activists, health-care workers, or other people in precarious situations or dealing with sensitive information. And I applaud Tuta and Proton for creating encrypted mail services and even offering the essentials free of charge. Personally, it gives me pause to have to sent an email to someone using services like Gmail and Outlook. I know what I send ends up being 'used', even if \*I\* didn't agree to their terms-of-service. But I wonder: Is end-to-end zero-knowledge encryption 'needed' for everyone? Or is that too, marketing and manipulation that plays to our fears of being spied on. Do E2E services and online privacy advocates go beyond the need for privacy to create an unfounded 'desire' for more extreme protection measures? Wouldn't it be good enough to use Fastmail/Mailbox.org/Posteo/Runbox/insert-your-IMAP-service-here, where you are 'the customer' that pays for the service? With or without using Thunderbird or your other favourite trusted client? I'm talking about daily stuff where most people need to use email for, but where one be better off if the contents wasn't analysed for tracking, profiling and nowadays training AI. What are your thoughts? Do you only feel comfortable sending emails to other Proton/Tuta/Mailfence/PGP-mail users? Or is it fine as long as it's to a reputable mail provider and not an advertisements company?
Mail System — Feedback? Hello, thoughts on this system please? Looking for more privacy, while keeping convenience and simplicity. (And preferably not too expensive—I’m 17 and jobless 😅) Here it is: 1. Personal email (mailbox.org): without my name in it. To be used for logging in, and shared among friends and family. Nothing else. • DuckDuckGo alias(es) — to be used for sign-ups, socials, shopping, gaming, etc 2. Professional email (mailbox.org): with my name in it. Used for correspondence with school, gov’t stuff, work. Maybe banking, too? 3. Recovery Email (something free, like Proton or Tuta): just in case I lose access to my account or need to send something quickly and there’s an outage. Anyway, thoughts? Thanks in advance!
tuta vs mailbox.org I’m wondering if there are any major privacy or security differences between Tuta and Mailbox.org. I’ve used Tuta in the past and really like their service, but I absolutely hate their design. Mailbox.org has a nice Black Friday deal right now, so I’m considering giving them a try. I also like that Mailbox offers IMAP, whereas I know that isn’t possible with how Tuta’s encryption works. For context, I’m using several custom domains for my email setup. Are there any important privacy or security trade-offs I should know about before switching?
PSA: 2FA at mailbox.org is only as strong as IMAP password [removed]
Does Mailbox.org have an option for zero access encryption at rest for incoming mails stored As title states, does mailbox.org have an option for zero access encryption for storing incoming mails? Or are encryption under Guard still accessible by mailbox.org as keys are accessible by them.
Secondo option to Proton and privacy for contacts Hello, Using Proton I noticed that there is no help for contacts, so Gmail stays the option to save new ones; I know that there is Mailfence or [mailbox.org](http://mailbox.org) as alternatives. Which one do you suggest as backup and that take into consideration the contacts service? Thanks!
Specifically German alternative to Gmail. I already use mailbox.org, but it's Calendar and 2FA is very inconvenient to setup and use on android, so I never bothered. Need something else! [removed]
I'm not getting verification codes on my mailbox.org alias I tried to change my discord email to one of my mailbox.org aliases and I'm just not getting it in my inbox. I checked the junk folder and it's not there either. What's going on? I just signed up for this today and I don't know very much about email providers other than Google and Apple. I filed a support ticket, but I'm not sure when they'll be able to get to me. Does anybody know what's happening?
Trying to decide between Mailbox.org and Posteo, and overthinking other providers too My main requirements are: - less than $40 USD per year - ability to have 20 or more aliases - imap - privacy friendly - proper 2FA setup (I believe mailbox recently implemented this correctly?) I like that Posteo allows aliases at other domains. Mailbox only has mailbox.org aliases if I'm not mistaken? I'm looking for all general input, but especially people who have stuck with a provider for over 5 years. Are there any other providers that are in close competition with those services?
