BMO Bank, N.A.

I received this notice that “looked official” but I was very suspicious, so I looked it up online before calling them and sure enough, there are NUMEROUS reports that this is a scam. The postage shows Perrmit #100, Claremont, CA. It appears they are targeting people with recent loans/mortgages and according to what I read, are phishing for info. Fortunately, I did not call them, but I did want to make a report so banks and businesses and people targeted do not become victims. Letter stating: RE: BMO BANK NA County Clerk: (My County) Closing Date: 12/10/2025 Loan Amount: $50,000 Lender Name: BMO Bank NA (My first name), We have been trying to reach you regarding a matter of importance as it relates to your mortgage with BMO BANK NA. Please contact 1-833-408-1591. Please call upon receipt. Thank you, Mortgage Service Center I called BMO and found out this is not from them. In small print on the back it mentions something about the information being public record. I was trying to get a loan with lending tree they send me a test deposit for $1200 hundred dollars n I did a cash app return the money, then they deposit a $1600 into my BMO bank n they cleared the check the second time. The fraud department never notified me of any suspicious transactions. Now the bank is trying to chg me $1200 that I don’t have. I stopped by the bank to speak to a banker A’ja Ross she was very helpful I asked her why r they trying to chg me $1200 when I was a victim of fraud. She called the fraud dept. they wanted to speak to me they said they don’t protect consumers of fraud so I have to pay them back because I released my bank information I td them yes because it’s done online. I asked why do I have fraud protection n why did they cleared the checks. Note: BMO will never pay any of my bills or clear any of my checks if I don’t have the funds in my account not even a penny N they always call me if I approved a transaction WHAT HAPPENED NOW.
