I am a renter and needed to get my chimney cleaned. Contacted Elite Chimney Services from online. Cost was to be $100. When the cleaner came he wanted to know the "history" of the chimney. When I said that I only know history from last year and a half, he looked up the chimney and said that it hadn't been cleaned in at least 5 years so price would be $350. Work lasted less than 20 minutes. He said that they didn't take credit cards and preferred checks. He asked me what Washington state tax rate was. As he was leaving he told me that the receipt would be sent when he returned to the office. I never received it. I called 6 times each time being told that they needed to check with their manager. My check was cashed. They still would not give me a receipt. Online they stated that they were licensed/bonded and insured. I began to research them and did not find an active license with Washington State Labor and Industries. The website also showed rave ratings from HomeAdvisors. This company was not to be found. I also emailed the address given on the website only to have it bounce back. The last time I called them I asked where they were located. They just kept asking me where I was and that they needed to speak to a manager. The phone number on the website has changed 4 times since the work was done on Dec. 4, 2025.
