On December 17, 2025, I contacted Wakin McGregor through Facebook Messenger after seeing his plant sale listing posted in the Monstera Marketplace Facebook group. I was interested in purchasing the plants he advertised, and he requested that I send payment via e-Transfer( [email protected] ). I sent him money in two separate transactions to purchase a total of five plants. The first payment was $325 The second payment was $414 He stated that he would prepare the shipment within 24 hours. After 24 hours had passed, I was contacted by a shipping company called Global Fast Track Interstate Logistics (Tel: +1 209-336-6367). The shipping company requested a container rental fee of $344, stating that this fee would be fully refundable upon delivery. The following day, on December 21, 2025, they requested an additional $274 for a so-called “temporary fiscal stamp”, which they claimed was required to import live plants from the United States to Canada. I sent this payment as well. In total, I transferred $1,357. Although they provided a professional-looking website (https://fasttrackinterstatelogistics.com/ ) and a tracking number (*********************), the tracking page only shows sender and recipient details and does not provide any real shipment location or progress information. I never received the plants. Additional findings and issues include: I have been blocked on Facebook by the seller; when I log in using the account that was scammed, I can no longer see their profile or messages. When accessing Facebook from a different account, I can see that the seller is still actively posting plant listings. After I sent the final payment, all communication stopped, and I have received no replies.
