My wife and I received letters in the mail stating that our investment accounts had been transferred to LPL Financial. "thank you for appointing your LPL financial professional to assist you with pursuing your investment goals." This company has obtained our correct names, address, phone number and the types of accounts that we have. It also included bogus account numbers. It states that our Financial Professional is Kevin Cook, someone we have never heard of. Mr. Cook's phone number is listed at 336-664-1955. This is the former number of Truliant Federal Credit Union, which we are members of. I called Truliant and they denied any relationship with LPL. The letters instruct us to contact LPL to "update" any incorrect information.
