I received this voicemail today by an odd number with my area code. I did return the call thinking it was something serious. I gave the case number they left in voicemail and got transferred to this so called Sophia person and she told me I owed check n go and they were going to sue me. I said this was over 7 years ago and I thought it was charged off..she was extremely rude when I started asking questions about not feeling comfortable paying over the phone to resolve this debt I had over 7 to 10 years ago. She even made a comment and said if they wanted to commit fraud they didn’t need me to do so and she read off my whole social security number. Which really concerned me. She then stated I could either pay 99$ a month for however long or a one time payment of 411$ which was an out of court settlement offer to resolve debt from check n go which she claimed the amount was for almost 900$. She stated I took out the loan in 2018 but they didn’t charge it off until 2022 according to her.. When I kept asking questions about how can I verify this is legit before I decide if I want to pay because she claimed I could only do it by phone with a card that even if I went to court they couldn’t do anything through mail and it needed a digital foot print. She got frustrated and told me she would see me in court and they would proceed to summon me to court and sue me. And then she hung up, also before she said that she also told me that they didn’t have to provide me with any credentials to prove who they were.
