I was contacted about a job position as a Remote Program Coordinator with Pechanga Arena San Diego. I completed a written interview via Microsoft Teams; however, all interviews and communication were conducted online, and I never had a face-to-face meeting with any hiring managers. Today, January 27, I received a phone call from the number 619-566-1362, which my phone flagged as a potential scam. During the call, I was offered the position and later received an offer letter via DocuSign. One of the welcome emails mentioned that the company would send funds directly to my bank account to purchase equipment. Shortly after signing the offer, I was asked to complete a Direct Deposit form providing my account and routing numbers. I was then contacted by the HR Manager, Jenefer Jackson, with whom I was already in contact, and she outlined the next steps and training schedule. Later, I received an email stating that attempts to send the funds had failed and that an electronic check (e-check) would be issued to cover home office and work-related equipment.
