I live in SW Florida. I responded to an email looking for a driver to drive his mother on errands or to appointments. The pay was $150 day and I was to use her car...a Mercedes. The story was his mother was relocating (retiring) to Florida and arrangements were being made to find a place to live, set up various care providers, and have her car delivered so it would be here when she got here. He said he would mail me instructions, and I was to let him know (by email) when I received it. Two days later a Priority Mail (USPS) arrived and it only contained a cashiers check for $4890. When I asked about the amount of the check he said part of it was advance payment for the first week of work and the remainder was to be given to the company that dropped off the car. He told me to deposit the check and he would send more details. His ploy was to get me to write a check to the car delivery guys when they dropped of the car, only to discover the check was a fraud later on. He contacted me everyday to find out if the check had cleared. I later got him to provide the bank account he wanted me to deposit my check into - Wells Fargo Acct # 6196688797. Check the activity on that account, there may be others who sent checks to this account number. I called the issuer "State Savings Bank" in Iowa, who confirmed that Davis Handyman & Construction (the remitter) had not issued such a check and that police were looking in to it. (I guess I wasn't the only one) The original Priority Mail envelope had a return address of Reubin Stretch, 604 Daisy Ln, Lithonia, GA 30038 (fyi -There is no 604 Daisy, but there is 6404 Daisy.) After I received the check he switched to using text only from phone number 209-340-3275 .css-c8hvdp{--Grid-columns:12;-webkit-flex-direction:row;-ms-flex-direction:row;flex-direction:row;min-width:0;box- [BBB Scam Type: Employment] [Business: Dr Crysti Long] [Location: FL, USA - 33912]
