I was searching for a car part. Came across web site, Superior auto parts. Very legitimate looking web site 7 pages long. Search engines etc. I was transferred to a voicemail so I hung up the call. I was phoned back in 2 minutes. I was told they do indeed have the discontinued part and can ship it to me next day before 5:00 pm. I thought great, no one else had the part. The part was $15.00 so I gave them my credit card information over the phone. I was then told they are going to send me a text message with a code and if I could please read them the code. The code was from my bank, BofA, telling me to never give this code out. I told them this they said no that they do bank with BofA and they sent it and were going to send another code. Told them I feel a little uncomfortable and they assured me they are to be trusted. They sent a code request 4 times and I foolishly read them the codes back. Yes stupid me I know. They kept saying the codes were not working because I was taking to long so they were going to send another code. ? I asked for a number I could please call them back and was given 760-666-4194. I told them I was going to call my bank and then call them right back. My bank already was flagging fraud. Fraudulent charges were already pending. Bank aware and canceled the transactions and issued me a new credit card. OMG ! They called me back the next morning inquiring on my order - I asked them where they are located and he said Fontana, CA. I told him great I am only thirty minutes from there , can I have your address. He told me 15016 Whittram Ave. Fontana, CA. 92335. Googled it, looks like an abandoned building. New phone number 760-696-9657. They seem to have several 760 area code phone numbers. Very sad that there are people out there scamming like this.
