The scammer first contacted me using the phone number (562) 337-3142 and claimed to be a process server and wanted me to confirm my address. When I told him that I have never lived in that state he then told me to call Mercer & Associates to give them my address so this matter can get cleared up. He provided me with their 800 number, (800) 231-1735 as well as a claim number. When I called the 800 number the man who answered the phone already knew my name and said he would transfer me to the right department. A man from the next department answered the phone and at first he was polite and asked for the claim number. After I gave him the claim number he said my full social security number and asked if that was correct. I said yes and then he told me I have an unpaid bill from First US Bank, a bank I have never had an account with. I told him I have never had an account with them and he became very rude and said "we'll see you in court" then he hung up on me. I called back and once again the man who answered the phone knew my name and when I told him the man I was just talking to rudly hung up on me he bacame rude and said "yeah that was me, we'll see you in court". Before he could hang up on me aging I asked who is we? He said MCS and when I aske who is that because I thought I was on a call with Mercer & Associates. He then started yelling at me and said "yeah, MCS Mercer & Associates put it together ". I asked him who was the original creditor and he said "I already told you, First US Bank, we'll see you in court", I ask for confirmation that he said First US Bank and he said "I already told you 3 times, I'm not going to keep repeating myself, we'll see you in court" and hung up on me.
