I got a pop up screen that said my computer was locked due to a security leak and to call Microsoft at this certain phone number. I knew immediately that it was a fraud and tried to exit but didn't. I turned the computer off and the power off, but the screen came back when I turned it back on. So I used my phone to search for Microsoft help and it gave me this number - 1-800-595-4335 which is Geek of States who claimed to be tech partners with Microsoft. I gave them access to my computer remotely and also paid them for a protection plan. Then while they were doing something with my computer, I checked my cell phone and found out they might be a fraudulent business. I checked with Microsoft and they said they didn't have partners that provided tech support, only ones who sold Microsoft products. There is no company shown on Google maps that matches the address they've given in Kansas. I am calling it fraud because they misrepresented themselves by claiming they were tech partners when they weren't. @m [BBB Scam Type: Tech Support] [Business: Geek of States] [Location: TX, USA- 78209]
