The number, +1 (800) 955-6600, presented itself as “Capital One” on my caller ID and said there were 5 suspicious charges on my account. They had my full name and the last 4 numbers of my account number. They transferred me 3 times, gave me 5 cancellation codes for each of the charges, and a case number. They then told me to text the case number, *********2, then open Apple Pay to type in one of the cancellation codes which came out to over $500 into Apple Pay and click send to verify my account.
