Thought I had contacted Americo Life Insurance from a website phone number. I was trying to put in a claim for my recent loss. The guy on the other end wanted to sell me a new policy for myself cheaper than the one I have. I gave him my information including my checking account number and routing number. Also my Social Security number! When I was completely upset, I told him to forget it and just proceed with my claim. He then said he would connect me to a representative, at which time the call was dropped! I am keeping an eye on my account, nothing so far. The number that I called, from the website, is (877) 407-5020 [BBB Scam Type: Identity Theft] [Business: Americo] [Location: SC, USA- 29671]
