Contact was made on FB marketplace and they immediately changed the messaging to private text messaging @ 585-417-0433. Wanted to send me money for an item I was selling for $25 but the venmo never went thru. I checked my junk email and found the attached email. I called the number on the email and the call was answered very professionally by “venmo”. He said that the person making the sale had to send me $500 more becasue it was a “business” venmo. So the buyer did and the person I called was trying to walk me thru on how to refund the person the $500. Lucky for me none of my passcodes were working and he tried to get me accounts on PayBis and MoonPay. which nothing worked. at one point he said I had to contact my bank to OK the transfer of $500 and to be sure to call him back at the number on the venmo emal. During this time, I had received numerous fraud emails from my bank. When I called my bank nothing had been transferred and I stopped all credit cards and the money that I transferred from one account to the other was returned to the correct account.
