The customer searched online for a travel agency and contacted a phone number they believed belonged to the agency. They spoke with an individual identifying himself as Derek Jones, who falsely claimed to be affiliated with the travel agency. The customer requested assistance with repricing their Cruise booking and changing a name on the reservation. The individual advised the customer that the booking needed to be rebooked and canceled in order to receive a refund. Based on this misinformation, the customer made a payment for a fraudulent booking. The scammers sent confirmation emails from [email protected] and provided multiple phone numbers (1-800-818-0846, 1-877-461-8020, 1-888-616-8120). This same scam was reported by another customer involving the same individuals and email address, with identical email formatting and only the refund amounts differing. The travel agency confirmed these individuals are not affiliated with the company and advised affected customers to dispute charges with their financial institutions. I called what I thought was a number for British Airlines Ticket Agency and then when I didn't receive an e-ticket for my reservation, I called a number that was the real British Airways number. British Airways could not confirm the reservation. I noticed the number I called was listed as a scammer number on your website. Other numbers I was given were 1-877-461-8020 and +1(877)461-8020 +1(888)616-8120 The person gave the name Lucas Smith and I was suspicious because he said to only call these phone numbers when checking on my reservation. He did give me an airline flight confirmation number that British Airways said looks like a legitimate confirmation number.
