I received a deceptive mail solicitation titled "Recorded Deed Notice" that appears designed to look like a mandatory government tax bill. The document includes my full legal name, specific property address, and a "Record ID" number to create a false sense of official urgency. It requests a payment of $128.00 with a "due date" of 10/02/2026. Several red flags indicate this is a misleading sales pitch rather than a legitimate bill: Misleading Payment Instructions: The letter demands payment be made to a private entity called "Property Site" rather than a County Treasurer or Tax Collector. Geographic Discrepancies: The return address is listed as 1388 Haight Street, Unit 286, San Francisco, CA 94117 (likely a rental mailbox), while the payment remittance address is PO Box 910, Norco, CA 92860. Neither matches the location of the property or my local government offices. Intimidation Tactics: The envelope displays a warning of a "$2,000 fine and 5-year imprisonment" for interfering with delivery, mimicking official US Government mail to discourage the recipient from discarding it. Service Provided: The text eventually admits that the $128 fee is merely for a "Property Assessment Profile" containing public record information (tax values, flood reports, comparable sales) that is available for free or nominal cost from the County Assessor. Placement of Disclaimers: While the document says "not a government approved or authorized document" on the top right and envelope, this text is overshadowed by the official-looking layout, "Recorded Deed Notice" title, and legalistic threats, relying on consumers to overlook the fine print in favor of the visual cues of a bill. I received a letter in the mail from Property site 4343 Marconi Ave suite 4-116 Sacramento Ca 956821. Phone line 1-888-959-1204. Claiming that Property site recommends that all homeowners obtain a copy of their Property Assessment profile which includes a complimentary copy of your current Grant Deed or other record of title. These documents can provide evidence that the property at *My address* was, in fact, transferred and/or has interest to the individual(s) *My name*. The property Assessment profile is a comprehensive property report that provides a wealth of information on the property that can be used to verify property information is recorded correctly, as mistakes can affect property taxes. Legal description and information, flood information and maps, home valuations and projections, history, comparable properties and more are included. Records obtained through public information show a Grant deed or other record of title was recorded in your name *My name* on 12/04/25, which indicates your ownership and/or interest in the specified property below. Below is the recording date when I purchases the property, the year the property below, the land use desc, Transaction amount, the carrier code and legal property address.
