Debt-reduction solicitations dominate complaint activity out of Virginia's 804 area code, which has accumulated 2,029 total complaints across 1,033 distinct numbers since February 2026, with activity recorded as ongoing through June 2026. That single category, reducing debt across credit cards, mortgages, and student loans, accounts for 414 complaints on its own, making it the clearest driver of volume in this code. Three of the top eight numbers by complaint count fall into that bucket: 804-380-4435 leads the entire code with 34 complaints, followed by 804-982-0322 at 14 and 804-552-9679 at 10.

Impersonation calls, categorized as pretending to be government, businesses, or family and friends, add another 233 complaints, placing second among named categories. Number 804-332-5300 is the primary source in that category with 11 complaints. Dropped calls or silent calls account for 220 more complaints, with 804-593-5125 generating 10 of them. Medical and prescriptions solicitations contributed 94 complaints, and home improvement and cleaning calls added 30.

Among the top numbers, three carry no assigned category: 804-636-3854 at 16 complaints, 804-601-5446 at 12, and 804-259-1865 at 10. Together those three account for 38 complaints, a notable cluster of unclassified volume concentrated among the code's most-reported lines.

Geographically, reported locations cluster tightly in the Richmond corridor, with Midlothian and Richmond, Virginia appearing most frequently, alongside Maidens and Falls Church. North Carolina and Florida also appear among reported states, suggesting the numbers reach beyond Virginia's borders despite the code's local identity. At rank 61 out of 358 area codes overall, and 11th out of 51 Virginia-region siblings, the volume is elevated but not extreme in absolute terms.

The threat picture here is one of sustained, live-caller pressure: FCC data shows 55 live-agent calls in the mode, and the code has been active without interruption for five months. The concentration of debt-reduction fraud among the highest-complaint numbers, combined with a meaningful bloc of unclassified high-volume lines, points to organized outbound operations using Richmond-area numbers as a persistent local-seeming front.
