I was called and verified with me of a car that was in my name (which I gifted to another person) and that it was in an accident and they needed to discuss the case with me they were with the Texas Department of Accident Research. They gave me information about the accident and I told them I would reach out to the person who had the car. I did and called back but first asked again who they were and where the office was located and was told different major cities in Texas. I explained I wanted to make sure this was not fraud and asked for their website which I was then told it was CARFAX.com! And I pointed out that she was representing herself as someone from a Texas State Agency and she said we are trying to help people know their rights but confirmed again when I asked that she was with CARFAX.com and then I addressed that she misrepresented who she was and then she said she had to go and hung up.
