Complaint Against: Lucky Locksmith (also referred to as “24/7 Locksmith”) We contacted a company identifying itself as “Lucky Locksmith” on March 21, 2026, to replace a lost key for a residential mailbox in Staten Island, NY. At approximately 8:51 AM, the company confirmed a technician would arrive before 10:00 AM. A technician arrived around 10:00 AM (phone: 848-285-8275), but did not provide his name, company identification, or a receipt. He requested payment via cash or Venmo. A cash payment of $175 was made, with the understanding that a receipt would be provided later. No receipt was ever issued. During the service, the technician used a screwdriver to force the lock out, damaging the mailbox structure. This caused the main mailbox (serving approximately 50 tenants) to become difficult to open. Shortly after, the mailman from the Post Office was unable to access the mailbox. At 10:42 AM, we contacted the company (516-549-5313, listed as “Lucky Locksmith”) to request the technician return to fix the damage. We were told to contact the technician directly, who did not respond. Subsequent calls to the company resulted in: Refusal to provide business information (including website or full company name) Call disconnections after inquiries Conflicting statements about company identity At approximately 12:00 PM, an individual identifying himself as “David” (908-837-0129) called back and stated the company name was “24/7 Locksmith,” which differs from “Lucky Locksmith.” He requested photos, which were provided. On March 23, 2026, further calls to the company resulted in multiple individuals claiming to be “David,” each denying prior knowledge of the situation. During a recorded call, one individual offered: A $100 refund only if we agreed not to pursue further action or contact them again, or To “take them to court,” stating they had legal representation.
