I am filing a complaint regarding Better Path Lending and its affiliated entities due to serious concerns about deceptive and potentially fraudulent practices. I initially enrolled after speaking with a representative, Daryl Grimes, who presented the program as a legitimate debt relief solution. I gave him my routing number, account number and SS#. He wanted it in 5 to 7 days. I asked if I could hold off until 3/27 because of the large amount of money they were going to collect. He emailed me a side by side comparison of what it would cost and how much I would save. He put me on hold and then said they could do that. Also heard 2 gun shots in the background like trap shooting? He said they would freeze all my cards for 90 days ad then there after I could use them again if I wish. I asked if I could break up the amount so it wasn't such a large amount and he said after 3 months of paying I could. Shortly after, I began receiving excessive unsolicited calls (8–10 per day) from various numbers and was contacted by other companies claiming to be affiliated, including Aspire Legal Group and CDP Customer Defense Partners. I was instructed to stop making payments to my existing creditors, which placed my accounts at risk. I was also asked to provide sensitive personal information, including the last four digits of my Social Security number, to access documents. This was from a company I did not fill out anything for and it said my loan was denied. This was Aspire company. When I attempted to verify the legitimacy of these organizations, I encountered inconsistent information, unprofessional communication (including being hung up on), and unclear affiliations between the companies involved. They even said they were affliated with attorney Mike Phillips. Mr. Phillips left me a voice message with his number being 612 677-8345 and email: [BBB Scam Type: Credit Repair/Debt Relief] [Business: Better Path Lending] [Location: MN, USA - 55025]
