I clicked on an email and immediately my computer froze and began ringing loudly with what sounded like a siren. There were multiple boxes with messages that hackers were attempting to compromise my computer, and to call the Microsoft Tech support number listed. I called and spoke with a woman named Sarah Alavi. She gave me her employee # MS7951, and a phone number to call her back on if we lost connection. That number was (210)785-4249. She convinced me to download an app. I did and there was a passcode that she asked for. They got remote access to my computer. I truly thought she was a Microsoft employee, but as the call continued she told me the scammrrs were using our credit card information to pay for online websites that had fees. She asked if we used our computer for personal or business use. I told her both. She said my cell phone and land lines were also compromised and to not use them. After more talking she then offered to call my bank to tell them of the hackers and to give them my Microsoft case number, which she told me was CC310553. I did not give any bank phone number, nor bank name. I did look up our bank phone number while talking to her, and then my cell phone and land line began ringing with a New Jersey number (732) 884-5399). That number called 4 times. I did pick up once, and it was a foriegn voice saying they were calling from my banking institution. I hung up, as I then realized I was being scammed.
