Community Reports

My husband and I recently refinanced our home. Shortly afterward, we began receiving several letters in the mail stating there was an “important notice” regarding our current mortgage. The letters instructed us to contact the phone number 833-382-7969. When we called the number, we were contacted by an individual identifying herself as Vannic Truong, who provided the phone number 816-529-0912 and claimed to be an underwriter. During the conversation, the individual was very demanding and attempted to pressure us into providing information. Her behavior raised concerns that the situation was not legitimate. The individual later sent a document that appeared to be from the Tennessee Department of Commerce. After reviewing the document, it appeared to be fraudulent and not an authentic communication from the state agency. Due to these circumstances, we believe this may be a mortgage-related scam targeting homeowners after refinancing, and we are submitting this complaint to report the incident and prevent others from being targeted. .css-1w6dufj{-webkit-box-flex:0;-webkit-flex-grow:0;-ms-flex-positive:0;flex-grow:0;-webkit-flex-basis:auto;-ms-flex-preferred-size:auto;flex-basis:auto;width:calc(100% * 12 / var(--Grid-parent-columns) - (var(--Grid-parent-columns) - 12) * (var(--Grid-parent-columnSpacing) / var(--Grid-parent-columns)));min-width:0;box-sizing:b [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: VANNIC NGUYEN TRUONG] [Location: TN, USA- 37801]

Got a postcard in the mail claiming to be from Summit Funding, which just helped in getting a mortgage. It said to call 833-382-7969. It said that I needed to call regarding this loan and gave a loan number which is different than what summit actually gave me.
