an ad popped up on something, i can't recall what i was browsing at the time, maybe a cookie recipe. It was about a McCormick spice rack for the holiday and i clicked on it.It popped upwith 20 gift boxes and said i had 3 tries to win and on the third try i won. It had a believable running live stream indicating how most people did not win. It then said in no uncertain terms that i needed to send them 14 dollars shipping and handling to receive my prize.Like a fool i fell for it or in other words, believed them. If it had been anything but the spice rack i would not have done it but i took the bait hook line and sinker despite having a pretty decent internal scam detector. I quickly read the disclaimer after the payment went through and it indicated that i was now entered into a drawing for the spice rack and that my credit card would be billed 50 dollars every month for their e book of yada yada yada something or other. There was a customer servive number in the fine print and a call center answered and cancelled the payment and yes i could cancel within the two day cancellation period. I just am asuming that a lot of people do not read the fine print and happily wait for their prize and never notice the subscription that they are being billed for .If i could, i would find who is doing this and knee them in the groin as senator Kennedy said last week.
