I received a voicemail from a "Curtis Metcalf" that stated he had tried contacting me repeatedly but that I've ignored his calls. He said my claim is ready to be filed into the county. And, to quote him, "At this point, we've now verified your commercial as well as several residential locations. Each time that I've reach out to you has been documented and there is no way for you to state you had no prior knowledge of this. The number to the office is 877-298-1059. This is your final notification by phone and you will be located. Best of luck." [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Unknown] [Location: TX, USA - 79109]
I received a call from a person (missed her name) that stated she had tried contacting me repeatedly but that I've ignored his calls. She said my stepsons claim is ready to be filed into the county. And, to quote her, "At this point, we've now verified your commercial as well as several residential locations. Each time that I've reach out to you has been documented and there is no way for you to state you had no prior knowledge of this. The number to the office is 877-298-1059. This is your final notification by phone." I called the number; a Chloe answered and said the business was called National. She said that it was a 3rd party reaching out. And that they may be trying to locate my stepson. The claim number pulled up and she referred to it as a legal matter. They called my business mobile and left messages on my wife's phone. I do not know what their end game could be. My stepson is essentially broke and homeless. But the script was almost identical.
