Received a letter on the mail, on the envelope it says “response to this notice is required” and on the little visible plastic part it says “official business, penalty for private use, $300”. Immediate response requested. No address, no website, no name, no identifiable information. Only the phone number 1-888-404-1180 and for Spanish ending in 0289. Letter has my full name and address. It states “this letter is to make you aware that if your factory warranty has expired, you will be responsible for paying any repairs. However, if expired, you still have the option to option coverage on your vehicle. Please call that same number today. There’s no actual breakdown of the supposed coverage. The letter’s writing is in gray not black so it looks faded. It does have more messages about “urgent matter, respond by 11/22/2025”, shows the phone number 4 times total. Operating hours Monday through Friday 7am-5pm PST and Saturday 9am-1pm PST. Reading over reviews, this is a scam. No credible information. I’m upset they have my full name and address. Sent a letter through USPS. Mail did not have any identifiable markers regarding who it came from besides a phone number 1(888)404-1180 along with stating that my cars factory warranty is expired which I know is false. Called the number and asked which business they were from. They kept dodging questions before hanging up on me and blocking the number. They sent postal mail titled "Final Notice" in bold, informing my husband that his "factory warranty has expired," but no information on the vehicle itself. The letter stated "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED" in bold. The letter contained the phone number 888-404-1180, but no other information about the business, such as their name or website. The letter did say "All policies are through Service Activation Center FL License #: G158355. The use of language such as "Final Notice" and "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED" is predatory, especially for a clearly fake company. Letter dated 12/02/2025. IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED - FINAL NOTICE: Requesting activation of vehicle service contract. Alleged Customer Number: AWV691728. Letter had no reference to Company Name, Return Address, Website or Email Address. Letter had no reference to vehicle description, no VIN number, no brand name, no model, no purchase date. Only referenced: English contact No. 1-888-404-1180 or Spanish contact No. 1-888-404-0289. [BBB Scam Type: Other] [Business: Unknown] [Location: FL, USA - 33024]
The scam consisted of a piece of mail with no address from the sender. It has “Response Requested” over the address of the recipient. The postage says your cars service contract has expired and you need to reach out to contact them about extending it. The only identification for the sender is the phone number, 1-888-404-1180, and FL service activation center license #G158355. There’s a chart on the middle of the page that includes and approval number and date of expiration. Got "Final Notice" mailed. No company listed....Pacific times to call back but a Florida Activation # G158355 for an extended warranty on a car. Very rude demanding a "yes or No" (so they can tape that in your voice). I refused and this person began name calling. I turned all into the dealership and see online this number is used to scam. Block this number: 1-888-404-1180. [BBB Scam Type: Other] [Business: none listed] [Location: TX, USA - 78729]
[Deceptive auto warranty mail using "FINAL NOTICE" language with no company identification.] [I received a mailed solicitation designed to appear as an urgent or official notice. The only visible text through the envelope window reads "FINAL NOTICE", which appears intentionally used to elicit fear and urgency.] [The mailer does not clearly identify the company sending it. There is no legitimate business name, website, or transparent disclosure - only a toll-free phone number (1-888-404-1180).] [When companies fail to identify themselves while using urgent or threatening language, this is misleading and deceptive to consumers.] [This correspondence is not from my vehicle manufacturer, dealership, insurer, or lender. It appears to be a third-party extended auto warranty marketing operation using vague language and urgency to prompt contact under false pretenses.] [I am concerned about... 1) The lack of clear company identification. 2) The use of “FINAL NOTICE” to imply consequences that do not exist. 3) The reliance on fear-based language. 4) The repeated use of anonymous or shell marketing entities. 5) The exploitation of consumer vehicle ownership data for deceptive solicitation. 6) No dollar amount is disclosed in the letter; consumers are expected to call the provided number to learn pricing or be pressured into purchasing.] [I did not give permission to be contacted by this company and believe this mail violates the spirit of fair advertising and consumer protection practices, even if it narrowly avoids technical definitions of fraud.] [SUGGESTION TO OTHER CONSUMERS: 1) If you receive similar mail, please report it here so patterns can be documented. These deceptive companies rely on low reporting and consumer confusion to continue operating. 2) This appears to be bulk marketing mail. Consumers should know that future mailers can be refused by writing "REFUSED - [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: None / Unidentified Deceptive Solicitati
They are claiming the my factory warranty has expired and I will be responsible for paying any damages. When I bought the car it was bought as is with no manufacturer warranty. This a third party scam warranty company trying to get my money. I looked us the number online as well and a lot of others said it’s a scam and they changed their number quite a few times. They are currently using the 888-404-1180 number. [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Unknown] [Location: SC, USA - 29161]
Last year, wife bought a car with a service contract through a factory dealership. About 12 months later, wife received a letter warning that she had not, "contacted us to have your vehicle service contract activated." The letter adds that, "you can still activate a service contract... before it's too late." The clear implication is that we did not "activate" the factory service contract after purchase. Other text in the letter included terms like, "FINAL NOTICE" and "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED" Letter did not mention the dealership or include a service company name or website. The letter only provided the phone number to call: 888-404-1180. In fine print at the bottom, the letter states that "All policies are through Service Activation Center FL License #: G158355" This sounds like the department of a company we might already be doing business with. Online research revealed this to be a scam attempting to sell a service contract that may not be honored for repairs by the dealership or any other service/repair shop! , They are attempting to sell a product we dont need and which may not deliver what is promised anyway.
