The caller rang through our phone tree at 11:38 AM. She explained that we were being over billed by our merchant service provider. Continuing: hat we were red flagged in their system and it is their job to run an analysis of our merchant statements. When pressed for details about their company and how they obtain information about our merchant service billing rates, she insisted that if we are paying over a certain percentage on transactions, we will be flagged in their system. I asked how they would obtain that information since she previously stated that she is with a third party company that works with our merchant services processor and then stated that she did not have the exact information on what we are paying or which provider is our merchant service processor. When pressed for their employer's details, the caller provided the company name Shell Com (?). She told me to upload the last three months of statements from our merchant The caller id was Hansen Natalie phone number 972-972-4516. This is the second such call we have received that I have intercepted in approximately a year. Received another call from the same group as 13 minutes ago. "Pauline" from shell con or merchant service third party partner called again this time from a different number with a different area code claiming to be in her boss's office. original caller id: Hansen Natalie Phone (972) 972-4516 this new call came with caller id Chapin Douglas (214) 206-1878. I asked why the area codes in the same office are different. She said she didn't think they would be that they should show up as a 1-800 number (gave full work number). I asked what her boss's name is. She replied Megan. (which doesn't match the caller id). I pointed out that is strange because the caller id doesn't match that name and it's concerning that these area codes are in different counties in the dallas to oklahoma area. This is lining up with technology that robo dialers use. She offered to put me through to her supervisor. I agreed. A person who stated that their name was Lewis answered and with Ma'am how can I help you? I asked what he knew about the call and he said that I wanted to make sure they were not running a scam. (and chuckled) I said that is true and I am seeing and receiving conflicting information. He said that managers show up as Oklahoma and Alabama numbers. I stated: Fine.
