They were alerting me from "Equifax" of credit applications using my SSN in Texas and credit line increases on many of my accounts that seemed odd since my residence is in RI. They confirmed much of my information by reading it back to me with minor confirmation from me. They then indicated that they were going to provide protection services for the accounts that have been compromised and now blocked by the lender by agreeing to allow them to legally represent me under the Federal Debt Collection Debt Practices that protects me, a person over the age of 60 to eliminate several debts due to the lenders' predatory interest charges in excess of 20% while the prime rate is only at 6%. By the end of the call, they wanted me to engage the services of attorneys from Northwest Financial Planner to settle these accounts at $3,500 fee each that will be charged to my accounts but paid by the lenders when accounts are settled in 3 months (after making the minimum payments requested by lender) at no cost to me with the balances of these accounts paid by the lenders when my accounts are brought to "0" balance. The "fee" being charged to my accounts raised another red flag and just didn't make sense. They also told me that my credit report had a red mark indicating a violation but by the lenders, not me. This qualified me for their services as offered. I indicated that the high fee charge would only increase my monthly minimum payments and was not in agreement and was able to postpone the call for later in the day. This enabled me to do some due diligence with Equifax and most of my credit card companies. None of the information Aquafaks reps (researched their number -- 888-905-4629) told me was corroborated by Equifax or my credit card companies. I placed an alert on all my accounts. .css-c8hvdp{--Gri [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Unknown] [Location: RI, USA - 02904]
