Among the 44 New York-state area codes tracked, 347 ranks 18th in complaint volume, a mid-tier position that nonetheless reflects a high density of active numbers concentrated in one of the country's most populous metro areas. Reported calls have also reached recipients in California and Florida, confirming that spoofed or forwarded 347 numbers are not confined to local targets.

The single largest complaint category is dropped calls or no message, with 157 complaints, a pattern consistent with autodialer probing or abandoned predictive-dialer traffic. Debt reduction pitches covering credit cards, mortgages, and student loans account for 144 complaints, the most substantive scam category in the data, followed closely by 133 complaints in the impersonation bucket, where callers posed as government agencies, businesses, or family members. Lottery, prize, and sweepstakes solicitations added 86 complaints, and medical and prescription calls contributed 46 more.

Eight of the top numbers drew twelve complaints each: 347-896-1533 and 347-625-8633 each carry twelve complaints with no assigned category, as does 347-896-1533's companion number 347-802-0359, which is tied to the dropped-call category. 347-418-0012 reached eleven complaints without a category designation, while 347-562-1469, 347-961-3284, and 347-202-8380 each drew ten. The one categorized outlier among the top eight is 347-508-7607, responsible for ten vacation and timeshare complaints.

FCC records for the code show a pronounced reliance on live callers, with 83 live-agent contacts logged against only 18 prerecorded instances and 2 abandoned calls. That ratio suggests operations willing to staff human callers rather than rely solely on robocall blasting, which tends to produce more persistent and adaptive campaigns.

The concentration of high-volume numbers without category assignments, combined with the strong showing for debt-reduction and impersonation calls out of a dense urban code, points to organized outbound operations rather than scattered individual fraud. With complaints still arriving and 706 numbers already flagged, 347 presents an active and broadening threat surface extending well beyond New York City itself.
