I was contacted by a group of individuals pretending to be from Comcast/Xfinity. They claimed I needed to “upgrade” my cable boxes or my TV service would be shut down. They used threats and pressure to get me to pay. They first demanded $300, then later asked for an additional $250 for another supposed service deal. They told me to mail checks to them before they would continue my service. After they cashed my first check, they tried to get me to send another one. When I later contacted Comcast directly, Comcast confirmed that these calls and payment demands were not legitimate. This confirmed that the callers were scammers impersonating Comcast staff. The scammers used the following information: Phone number they called from: 347-407-7522 Company name used: T Connect Names provided: “Michael,” “Kevin” (manager), and “Anderson” (supervisor) Address they told me to send payment to: P.O. Box 24043, Westside Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07304 They impersonated Comcast employees and used threats to pressure me into sending money.
