“Commercial Credit Adjusters” calling for years looking for someone who isn’t me I live in Ontario, Canada. For YEARS, I have been getting calls from “Commercial Credit Adjusters” looking to collect debt from an individual who is not me. It is always the same name (first, middle, and last) and it is not remotely close to my name (for starters, it’s a man and I’m a woman). I have no financial issues and no debt to my name outside of my mortgage. I have never answered these calls and have blocked a myriad of different numbers in an attempt to stop this. However, I’m now getting voicemails instead. The reason I never answer is because if it is a scam, I don’t want to engage with them and let them know that my number is a “live one”. But what I’m wondering is, if I finally answered one time, or called the number they give, and told them that I am NOT this person and to STOP calling me about his supposed debt, would this work? From some other posts I’ve found, it seems as though this “Commercial Credit Adjusters” is a legit debt collection agency? Or am I right to assume this is a scam attempt? Has anyone dealt with this? How can I stop their calls? It has legitimately been at least 5 years of this.
Received a fax from Southland Commercial Credit stating that we had an approved line of credit that we did not request. When looking for contact information in order to request the company cease contact, the form directed me to see the website: www.pleaseunsubscribe.com which has been reported to be a scam according to your website.
