How to Tell If Charity is Scam? Ok, So before anyone says "Check BBB" I did, there's no info on them there. I was able to find their Citizen Audit, or 2013 taxes. http://pdfs.citizenaudit.org/2014_06_EO/36-3054942_990_201312.pdf I think that this "charity organization", Chicago Area Runners Association, is fleecing everyone who's a member. They take in roughly 1,200,000; according to this the executive director takes 120,000 (10%) home, and they paid a board member 88,000 for "website development"; along with that, the actual money that goes to at risk youth is only 57,723, or what I perceive it as, less than 5% of their total money. Is it just me, or does this just look like a scam organization? I've been involved with them in the past, and it doesn't seem like they really *do* anything, but their hands are all over every running race in Chicago.
