Scam Type: Phishing / Wrong-Number Social Engineering Phone Number: 415-305-9528 Carrier: T-Mobile (VoIP messaging source) Description: I received an unsolicited “Hi” message from this number. I do not recognize the sender. This is part of a pattern of multiple one-word messages sent to me on the same day from different T-Mobile numbers, consistent with scams that begin with simple greetings to build trust before shifting into employment scams or romance/pig-butchering attempts. I did not reply, and I blocked the number. Actions Taken: Reported to the FTC Reported through T-Mobile’s 7726 spam system Carrier-level spam report filed Warning to Others: Do not respond to unexpected greetings from unknown numbers.
