Last year I contributed to a legitament organization called Ranger Pac. They operate by suggesting a big sum of money, such as $250 but telling you that I was ultilmately given the choice of what I wanted to donate. If you don't want to use a credit or debit card immediately, then they agree to mail out a donation reminder. I told the initial caller (I don't know if the same person called both times.) When I received the reminder it listed $250 as my donation. Since it was not what I had told them I could afford, I ignored it completely. When the second call came the caller called me by name again and told me that since I did not mail (my first big mistake.) I could use a credit or debit card to which I told him I would contribute $35. I asked him if that was what the original amount was different. He put me on hold and came back and told me that it was $250. I told him that I could not donate that amount, but that I would donate $35 (I ended up on hold again) so i ran to my computer, logged into my checking account and found he had already processed my card for $250! I told him that he needed to refund the $250 immediately (on hold again) and then charge me for the $35 which he said he would do. However that did not happen. there was a phone number for the GA headquarters on my bank statement at that time. I called that number and left a message as it was after hours. I than tried calling the callers number back and got repeated messages that no one was there, or they were on another line, etc. The number I discoverenk cNNOT d from a Reverse number look up that the call originated in the Columbus Ohio area. That number is 740-480-5895. ALSO SINCE I HAD USED MY DEBIT CARD WHICH IS TREATED THE SAME AS CASH, THE BANK CANNOT STOP IT FROM CLEARING!!!!! .css-c8hvdp{--Grid-columns:12;-webkit-flex-direction:row;-m [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Ranger Pac] [Location: OH, USA - 43812]
