I was contacted by a company calling itself “Element Solution,” using the phone number 844-204-6990. They claimed to be collecting on an outstanding credit card debt. Although I do have legitimate collections with the bank they named, the amount they stated did not match any accounts on my credit report. The callers used aggressive and misleading tactics, including threats of wage garnishment and statements that they would file legal action in my county (Williamson County, Texas) if I did not make immediate payments. They pressured me into providing my debit card information and making recurring monthly payments for approximately one year, totaling about $1,065 (about $160 a month throughout 2025). After recently reviewing the charges on my statements, I have realized the charges were coming from Authorize Legal and listing a phone number as 800-405-1069. However, when they would contact me, I would receive calls from Sara Applebee from the phone number 775-571-2127; however when she would leave a voicemail, she would provide the phone number 726-232-9445 ext 3012. I have since learned that wage garnishment for consumer debt in Texas requires a court judgment, and no such judgment exists. The company has not provided any written validation of the debt, and I now believe I was targeted by a fraudulent debt collection scheme. I am reporting this incident so it can be investigated, and so others can be protected from similar scams [BBB Scam Type: Debt Collections] [Business: Element Solution] [Location: TX, USA- 76537]
Since December I have been getting calls from multiple numbers and they all claim to be different names, sometimes the number comes up as Element Solutions though. The numbers are 844-204-6990, 659-766-1595, but I think they try to spoof local numbers in the state of the person they are targeting. They have left voicemails for my family members, it is obvious they purchased old information for a debt that is no longer valid but they use intimidation tactics to get paid and they also asked my husband for my social security number. It is extremely illegal what they are doing. Please don’t give these crooks your money, they are not a real company. I even called the number that a person stated they found because they got on a payment plan with them and the voicemail says “you have reached big boss” like seriously? Don’t be fooled by these low lifes. [BBB Scam Type: Debt Collections] [Business: Element Solutions] [Location: AL, USA- 36117]
