After refinancing a house loan I received a pink post card claiming “IMPORTANT NOTICE:IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED”. It then mentions the bank that the loan is thru and that they are trying to reach us about our mortgage. It then says to call (888) 315-3515 and that we need to respond by a certain date. It says it’s sent by “MP Service Center”. In very small print at the bottom of the card it says “all loan information is obtained from public records/ Not affiliated with, endorsed by, and information not provided by “your bank”, or any government agency or lending institution. For additional assistance call “(888) 778-5764. This is solicitation for insurance and you may be contacted by local insurance agency.” When I look up the numbers online it all says it’s not from your bank and the banks say report as as a scam since they try to make it sound like it is in the big font. Also, we have to have insurance before refinancing can go thru. Someone is just trying to get your money by looking up public records. The worst part is it comes in the mail and has your bank on it. Usually you can trust only things that come in the mail. I received a blue postcard that said the following: "IMPORTANT NOTICE: IMMEDIATE RESPONSE NEEDED. You have recently closed on your mortgage with REGIONS BANK. We are trying to reach you regarding a matter of importance concerning your mortgage with REGIONS BANK. This is time sensitive so please call us at (800) 411-2119. Mortgage ID# XXXXXXXX. Please respond by 2/26/2026 (received in mail 2/4/2026)." Other similar blue postcards just like this have come at least once a week since we secured a HELOC over the holidays to pay off several large financial hits that have befallen our family since last September. We literally have NO money - so they are barking up the wrong MF tree! : D Other info on the postcard says "First Class Presorted, US Postage Paid, Mailed from ZIP Code07065 (which comes up as Rahway, NJ USA), Permit No. 286." At the bottom of the postcard, it says, "All loan information is obtained from public records. I looked up (800) 411-2119 and it brought me to this page. I looked up (888) 778-5764 and found this: ST ALPHA EVENT MASTER FUND LP, 313 COMMONS WAY, PRINCETON, NJ; 08540. It says further, "The firm last filed a Form D notice of exempt offering of securities on 2011-02-24. Received notification about closing a mortgage loan and was sent a post card telling me I had to reach out to them by 3/25/26 as this was time sensitive and to all 888-315-3515. I recently closed on a house. A post card came in stating “Important Notice: Immediate response needed” and says to respond by 4/5/2026. I notice that the mortgage ID does not match mine, but also got two “immediate response” letter at the same time. I read the fine print and it has another number for the business I put down.
