Government Grant Scam; Be On High Alert I just got a call from "Washington DC" claiming that I was to receive a grant of 9,0000 dollars. Checked the caller ID it was a Blocked number. The phone connection was shooty and unclear. There was also a lot of noise like at a telemarketing office. She asked if I was Verlie so and so and I knew something was up. They asked if I wanted the money transfered to my bank and I refused and pretended to be interested in the cash option. They gave me a number and a code. I called and a women who called herself Maria Willson asked me to go to my nearest Rite Aid, CVS, or Walmart and get a money transfer card and pay $205 dollars that would be "refundable" I asked if there was any other option in which didn't have to pay and she said not due to state laws. I told her I will call later due to the lack of funds. Afterward I did a quick search which confirmed my foreboding suspicions. and leaves me with one question: How do I go about reporting this to the FBI? Asking me to pay money to avoid state taxes.
