Scam Type: Phishing / Wrong-Number Social Engineering Phone Number: 332-258-5338 Carrier: T-Mobile (VoIP messaging source) Description: I received a one-word “Hi” message from this number. I do not know the sender. On the same day, three other unknown numbers from the same carrier contacted me with nearly identical one-word greetings. The time gaps between the messages ranged from approximately 50 minutes to 1 hour and 40 minutes, which suggests a coordinated scam pattern. This type of contact is consistent with both employment-recruitment scams and romance/pig-butchering scams where scammers send short greetings to begin a conversation before moving into fraud. I did not reply and I blocked the number. These short greetings are often the first step in employment scams or romance-based financial fraud attempts.
