Military Romance Scam A "widowed American soldier currently deployed in Afghanistan" has been texting my mom up for the past two months using Google Voice. He's sent her stolen photos, pics of his "Release forms" and basically appealed to her emotions. Supposedly he was meant to send luggage that is now "stuck at customs." Wants 700$ for that. Today, he is apparently in London and on the way home to NJ but needs 1500.00 for his overweight bags (LOL ok). It hurts me to reveal to her its a common scam scheme that preys on lonely women, and the fact that hes talked to her for so long, but Ive been toying with him the past few days to prolong the interaction and waste his time.
