1-800-893-1168 Scam Hello, I was in the process of being scammed, but I don't think it was successful. I was looking for tech support of D-Link and Google gave me that number first hand (wtf Google?). He proceeded to install team viewer for remote access. This was weird as normally, this is only a "last resort" kind of thing. I gave him permission nonetheless. I showed him my problem via the D-Link router's GUI. He then wanted to "scan" my computer. He went to cmd tree to run "ipconfig" to take down my ip address. He then ran "tree" to scan my computer. I think he ran "tree" because it was long enough for him to type something else so the "scan" begin (I just ran tree and it's not as long as the other thing he ran). While talking to him, I knew it was fishy as I previously heard about Indian scammers. So I proceeded to do a quick google search of the phone number while the "scan" was performing. I saw the 5th or 6th result was about a scam. I then proceeded to close down everything immediately. The "scan" ran for about 30 seconds. I know for sure it did not finish. Am I safe?
