I called 1-855-737-0987 after receiving an email saying that my payment has been approved - for renewal of my McAfee Virus protection for 1 year. I called that same number and I wanted to cancel their service because I noticed the price went up from $159.51 that I paid last year to $249.99 this year. After speaking with the gentleman - I old him that I wanted to cancel the service - he said that I would have to fill out a form online and he walked me through it - My name was needed, my address, phone number and email address AND my Bank name. After that information, he took over my computer - I said yes to many questions but then he said I needed to sign in my bank account so that I could receive credit - at that point - I refused to sign in - because I told him that I could not remember my user ID and Password - he got upset and removed all my software - i.e. - all pictures, all Word documents, etc. - I begged him not to - all my PowerPoint Presentations - since he took over my computer - I had NO choices - I was at his mercy - I asked my husband for his assistance and he called the Tolland Police Dept. - spoke with TPR Nuccio # 421 - case # CFS# 2500426922, TPR Nuccio stopped at our home and spoke with the gentleman as well - he insulted TPR Nuccio and TRP Nuccio told me to hang up which I did. Now I need to restore all my files. PLEASE warn people that you cannot even trust a company that is supposed to safe guard your computer software!
