Person called and left message stating that they attempted to serve paperwork to the address on file and that the paperwork waa returned. In order to prevent a failure to appear, call Janet wilson at the 855 number and the staff would be able to give case information. The issue is: 1. Our county does not have a county processors office. Any papers to ve served are handled by contables. 2. The case number they gave does not match the format of the case numbers in our county. The case number given doesn't match any case number active ir inactive. 3. There is no current active case with my name listed as party to the case. The case does not exist. The court did a search to verify and found information to be false. 4. My wife was contacted with the same message, similar case number, but given a different number to call back. Number was 877-918-0112 5. Federal law prohibits collection agents or agencies from threatening arrest specifically or implied in order to collect a debt. This was implied by the threat of failure to contact would result in a failure to appear. Also the case number ended in CR, where in many jurisdictions CR in a case number refers to a criminal case. I received an incoming phone call from a person called Richard from the phone number of 214-420-4811. Upon answering, i was informed that i missed a court date and that a collin county tried to deliver a court summons to my address, and he verified the address, and that no one was there. He said it was supposedly delivered on Monday, 12/1/25 and i was home all day and no one came by at all. I informed him that no one showed up and he stated i was a liar. He gave me a lawyer named Janet Wilson at 877-918-0112 and i needed to contact her immediately to prevent being TAKEN IN as they were sitting outside of my apt, is what he stated. Called from 539-263-9379. Looking for my daughter. Said she was a process server and a family member needed served to appear in court. Requested we called the attorney Janet Wilson by 5:30 today or tomorrow morning. She had a case number to reference. The lady on the phone did not know why or which firm Janet Wilson represent. Called me, my mother and husband separately and left this voicemail: “This message is intended for [my name]. This is the Cuyahoga County processor office. My name is Julie Young. This is regarding a court summons that has been filed under case number 460-2536. This is a legal notification from the county processor office. We are contacting you to inform that an attempt was made to serve you with legal documents requesting your appearance in court. However, the documents were returned from the address on file. To avoid a failure to appear in court. We strongly recommend you contact the issuing attorney, Janet Wilson at 877-918-0112. Her office will be able to provide additional details regarding your case, including the filing date. Caller claimed to be following up on an attempt to serve me sealed documents at my home on 11/25/2025, (no such attempt was made). The caller provided the name of a supposed attorney, Janet Wilson, a case number, and instructions to call the supposed attorney at the number 877-918-0112 before 2pm to resolve. This is the second such call, the first time I almost fell for it, I got part way through the "follow up call" it felt very phishy and I hung up. This scam is similar to others I've come across on this site where the scammer calls, pretending to be from the Process Servers' Office in Lebanon County. She mentions that an attempt was made to serve legal documents to an address but were returned undeliverable. The scammer then says that in order to avoid a "failure to appear", we must notify the attorney in charge of the case (Janet Wilson) at 877-918-0112. They try to make it sound legitimate by giving a case number as well. However, they mispronounced the county name, which immediate made up suspicious.
