Campaign Narrative

This scam campaign involves a sophisticated network of 17 phone numbers operating coordinated impersonation and debt relief schemes across the United States. The operation has generated over 850 FTC complaints and 41 FCC complaints, with the highest-volume numbers being 855-909-0937 (440 FTC complaints), 607-294-9001 (105 FTC complaints), and 844-509-2967 (83 FTC complaints). The campaign primarily targets victims with calls pretending to be government agencies, businesses, or family members, as well as fraudulent debt reduction offers. Numbers 469-982-5002 and 469-982-5001 work as a sequential pair, generating 19 combined FTC complaints while impersonating government entities and trusted organizations.

The phone numbers demonstrate clear operational connections through same-campaign relationships and shared infrastructure. Numbers 469-982-5002 serves as a central hub, connected to at least six other numbers in the network including 469-982-5001, 800-864-8331, 877-258-1333, 800-433-7300, and 844-509-2967. Additional campaign clusters include 833-727-4138 linked to 877-379-3010, which connects to both 518-545-5247 and 833-422-4705. The operation also involves four companies reported together with specific numbers: Ready Capital Corporation linked to 607-294-9001, Credit Corp Solutions Inc. connected to 877-258-1333, Medical Services Inc. associated with 518-545-5247, and ACCOUNT SERVICES INC., collectively representing over 2,800 CFPB complaints in debt collection and mortgage industries.

Geographically, this campaign targets victims nationwide with particular concentration in major metropolitan areas and suburban communities. Victims span from Carmichael, California and Mesa, Arizona in the west, to Flushing, New York and multiple Florida locations in the east, with significant activity reported in Texas cities including Forney and Argyle, Pennsylvania locations including Pittsburgh and Narvon, and various communities across Illinois, Colorado, and North Carolina. Community reports reveal specific tactics including fake IRS tax debt notices from "American Tax Consultants" and fraudulent lottery winnings claims supposedly from "Mega Millions Sweepstakes Committee" in collaboration with major retailers.

Consumer protection requires immediate verification of any unsolicited contact claiming government affiliation or debt obligations. Never provide personal information, payment, or banking details to unsolicited callers. Legitimate government agencies like the IRS communicate primarily through official mail, not phone calls demanding immediate payment. If contacted by any number in this network, hang up immediately and do not click any links in related text messages. Report all suspicious contacts to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov or file complaints with the FCC for unwanted calls. Consumers can verify the safety of phone numbers by checking FTC and FCC complaint databases, searching online scam databases, and consulting with their local consumer protection agencies.

This represents a high-threat, multi-faceted scam operation with extensive consumer impact across multiple fraud categories. With over 850 documented complaints and clear operational coordination among phone numbers and associated companies, consumers should exercise extreme caution with any contact from these entities. Immediate action recommended includes adding all identified numbers to call-blocking services, reporting any contact attempts to appropriate authorities, and sharing this information with family members and colleagues who may be targeted by this ongoing campaign.
