Received a phone call from a David Ehrlich, who claimed he worked for the NCUA (National Credit Union Association) as a recovery funds agent (Employee ID-5489), from the number 703-478-0646, which was out of Virginia. Agent said I had $800,000 in funds being held over from 2024 at Colorado Springs Credit Union (1-877-258-1333) due to a sweepstakes I won from Las Vegas, Nevada. He provided me a federal case number and the Government Federal Protection Agency with their phone number at 1-800-212-8892 to verify everything. His purpose was to contact me so I could recover these funds since it was a prize, and the business could not reach me. Once we hung the phone up, I researched out the phone numbers and the one that reported as a scammer number was 1-800-212-8892. I called this number on a Saturday morning, and it claimed agents were willing to take my call and handle any claims I had. I hung up knowing federal agents in these job roles do not work on Saturday mornings. They rather work Monday through Friday. @med [BBB Scam Type: Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes] [Business: NCUA National Credit Union Association] [Location: OH, USA- 45750]
