Placed a doordash order from a restaurant in NYC. Got a call soon after from 888-414-1045 saying they were the restaurant, and their system was down so they'd be taking my order manually. They knew my name and order and phone and email. They told me to process my order I need to read an OTP they sent my phone and email, I did. Then they hacked my uber account and placed a A$192 order from a vendor in a country I don't live in. This is something that clearly happens often with information leaking out from Doordash repeatedly as there are multiple similar reports, dating back to 12 months ago and maybe even prior. I've reported this to Doordash and hope they take action so users' data isn't compromised by their systems. [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: IMPOSTER DoorDash] [Location: NY, USA - 10017]

I received a call from 1 (888) 414-1045 claiming to be DoorDash support just a few minutes after placing an order. The caller said some customers had been double charged or had their orders cancelled, and they were calling to resolve the issue for me. I found it odd because the DoorDash app showed no problem with my order. However, the caller knew my name, phone number, and email address, and the timing of the call aligned with my order being actively processed. This made their claim seem credible enough that I did not scrutinize it carefully. They told me a verification code would be sent to me by text and that I needed to share it to confirm my order. I was suspicious but not paying close attention, so I provided the code. What I did not realize at the time was that the code was actually meant to authorize an account login, not confirm an order. Immediately after, I received email notifications that the phone number on my account had been changed, and I was locked out. I quickly locked my credit card. My order was also cancelled as a result. I called Cheesecake Factory to place a delivery order and was told I must do so on their website through DoorDash. I visited the website, placed the order, and received a confirmation text that the restaurant had received it. Shortly after, I received a call from a number labeled 'doordash at 888-414-1045 stating the website server was down and need to push my order through manually. They texted me a code where they changed my information on my DoorDash account. My account was deactivated, and my personal information is now at risk of being shared online. I called Cheese Factory to let them know that they said there's nothing they can do about it. I must contact the delivery company. Placed an order on the Doordash app. A few minutes later, I received multiple calls from 888-414-1045. A heavily accented person left a voicemail saying they were Doordash and my order had been cancelled due to a system error so they needed me to give them an authentication code Doordash would send so they could place my order again on their end. Checked the app and my order was normal and active. Did not call back or provide code. [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Doordash IMPOSTER] [Location: NY, USA- 14304]

I placed an order for food on Doordash then immediately received a call from this number (888) 414-1045 and they claimed to be Doordash support. They repeated my real order back to me, with the actual restaurant name and the two items I ordered by name (I don't know how the scammers got this info) - Then they said the restaurant had been getting fake orders lately so they have to confirm my information as real - then they asked for my email and phone number. After that, they asked me to repeat a code back to them that was texted to me. They used it to log into my account and attempt to start placing orders, and change the address of delivery to their address. I was able to change my password before they were able to place any orders. [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Doordash imposter] [Location: CA, USA- 95382]
