I was trying to buy a Midea air conditioner. Amazon had the model I wanted on sale but ran out of inventory before I could buy it. So I googled the exact model to see if other venders still had it in stock. One of the top listings I found was what I though was the Midea company website (https://www.midearoomsdehumidifier.com/) . It was also discounted (even more so) so I thought they were trying to clear out inventory. I made the purchase on this website and was sent a confirmation email and follow up email with tracking information (https://worldinexpress.store/track). My credit card was charged by "HONGKONGCRE 63424380". I thought this was a little odd, but the Midea company is based in China. Over the course of the month, the tracking website was giving updates on the AC being shipped from France to the US. A month after purchase, this tracking website was no longer accessible. I emailed the address that provided the tracking information asking for an update on the shipment and my email provider sent this message: "Your message wasn't delivered to [email protected] because the domain maildockonline.com couldn't be found.". I then went back on the website I ordered the AC from and started looking more closely at the inventory. Every item "in stock" was on sale which would have tipped me off if I had browsed other pages during the initial purchase.
