I received a call from a company today claiming to be "AutoService Center." They called me from a 201-483-4480. It is not the first time that they have called but used a different "201" number and I block them everytime. Today I decided to fully listen to what they had to say. They 1st rep mentioned that I qualify for a discount as a carshield customer an asked how much mileage do I have on my vehicle(She(Melody) had the year, make and model). I provided her with the mileage and she proceed to transfer me to another representative(a male) who then stated that, "it appears that I do not have warranty coverage on my vehicle....the 1st payment will be $99 and thereafter it will be $130 taxes included. He(Tom) also mentioned that carshield was involved in a law suite and majority of Chevrolet dealership are no longer excepting carshield" I request that they send me all of this information via email or on paper and he responded "Yes, once the contract is active everything will be sent to you." When I requested a phone number so that I can call them back because I was a little busy, he responded by saying "We are unable to provide a number because it opens the door for insurance fraud." I than hung up and proceed to reach out to my local Chevy who stated that they do accept carshield and hasn't heard anything about what Auto Service Center was referring to. Please be aware of these scammers out here, because they will try ANYTHING. I tried uploading the audio for the recording however that was unsucessful.
