I was approached by three men on the Seattle boardwalk near the Ferris wheel, who opened by handing me flyers for their music projects. Two of the men introduced themselves to me, one going by Twice and the other going by Archie Bellz. They then asked me for donations to a charity called the “Positive Impact Program”, indicating that they support a small group of teens and young children. They did not hand me any literature or website for their charity or say specifically what my money would be going to support, although they implied that it was related to housing. I was prompted to make one payment for Bellz’s teen-focused program, and another smaller payment for the third man’s child-focused program. Both payments were made with tap-to-pay phone apps. Upon leaving my interaction with these men, I looked up their charity online and could find no concrete evidence that one under the name “Positive Impact Program” exists.
