I applied for a remote “Appointment Support Coordinator” position on Indeed under the company name “Thea Energy.” Shortly after, I received a text message from an unknown number stating they were moving forward with my application. I had not received any prior professional email communication or interview scheduling. The message instructed me to join an interview via Microsoft Teams using a provided link. It also directed me to search for the email address “ [email protected] ” within Teams or contact that same email if I had issues accessing the link. The company name in the message (“Umoe”) did not match the original job posting (“Thea Energy”), which raised concern. Additionally, the job posting was later removed from Indeed shortly after I viewed it again. The message also included unrelated text referencing “Santa Clara County Fairgrounds Management Corporation,” which appeared completely disconnected from the job opportunity. Based on the mismatched company names, lack of formal communication, suspicious email address, and removal of the job posting, this appears to be a fraudulent job scam attempting to impersonate a legitimate company. When I tried to view the job application on indeed, under my applied it disappeared. Text number : 1-206-385-0422 [BBB Scam Type: Employment] [Business: Thea Energy] [Location: MS, USA - 39402]
