On 4.21.26, my employer was contacted by an individual identifying herself as “Leann” from an organization she referred to as “CNA,” calling from 214-574-3129. She stated that she was attempting to serve me with legal papers related to an alleged debt but did not provide clear or verifiable details about the claim. She referenced an AmeriCredit account, which I understand to have been charged off more than 18 years ago. This individual contacted my workplace and spoke with my employer about serving me legal documents at the office. When I later spoke with her directly, she confirmed my home address and the last four digits of my Social Security number (both accurate), and she provided a purported “file number.” However, prior to this contact, I have never received any written notice, mail correspondence, or in-person service attempts regarding this alleged debt. I have resided at my current mailing address for approximately 15 years without any such communication. The caller claimed that a courier would arrive at my workplace to serve legal documents, but no such individual ever appeared. During the call, she stated that I could call back to “settle or dispute” the matter over the phone. She later left a voicemail indicating that I had only approximately 90 minutes to return her call before she would become unavailable due to being “in a meeting,” creating a sense of urgency. Subsequently, my wife returned the call to the same number. The caller again identified herself as Leann and stated the call was being recorded. My wife did not provide a case or file number but simply stated she was calling on my behalf. Despite the lack of verification, Leann immediately claimed to locate my file without requesting or confirming any identifying information.
