On or around March 2026, I engaged an individual identifying herself as Alicia Thompson for private chef services for my wedding scheduled on April 25, 2026, in New York State. I initially found her through an online platform (Yhangry). After a phone conversation at 313-338-5878, she offered a discount if I paid her directly rather than through the platform. She provided a quotation via email ( [email protected] ) and instructed payment via Venmo to the account @CaptDerek79. I made two payments totaling $550 USD: $275 on March 10, 2026 $275 on April 24, 2026 On April 25, 2026, at approximately 10:00 AM (shortly before her scheduled arrival time), she emailed to state she would not attend due to an urgent situation. Following this, she blocked me on Venmo and ceased all communication. Attempts to contact her have failed. I later googled her number online and realize it's a deliberate act of fraud by "Late to Lake LLC", as services were never provided and the individual has made no effort to refund or resolve the situation.
